Veterans Day is November 11, 2020 – Honor the Veterans on this Special National Holiday

(STL.News) Veterans Day was founded in 1917, during the First World War.  In honoring their veterans and those who have sacrificed, many people have celebrated Veterans Day on different days in history.  A large number of Veterans who serve and sacrifice so much are honored during the day with various activities that include parades, sporting events, dinners and other programs.  However, there is no telling what the future holds for Veterans Day, but one thing is for sure, there is no stopping it from continuing to grow in popularity as more people recognize its importance and uniqueness.

There are a variety of reasons why people celebrate Veterans Day in many different ways.  One reason that many people choose to honor their Veterans and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the U.S is because they know that their sacrifices are not in vain.  Veterans Day commemorates the service and sacrifices of all American military veterans, as well as those who have died while serving in the armed forces.  Also, Women Veterans Day has become more accepted by more U.S states that specifically recognizes women who have served in the armed forces.  Another reason why people look to Veterans Day is because the Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC is dedicated to them and their military service.  The Veterans Memorial, built in memory of those who gave their lives in uniform, is a great place to remember them.
