Yuma Arizona Sector Border Patrol Agents Thwart Human Smuggling Attempt

YUMA, AZ (STL.News) Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Wellton Station thwarted a United States citizen’s attempt to smuggle seven Mexican nationals through the Interstate 8 immigration checkpoint Monday morning. Agents encountered a Ford Econoline van at approximately 1:45 a.m. and referred it to the secondary inspection area for an immigration check.  While conducting their immigration inspection, agents discovered that seven of the 12 vehicle occupants were Mexican nationals without proper documentation that would allow them to work or reside in the U.S. legally. Yuma Sector Border Patrol Rescues Illegal Alien Without Water for Two Days

YUMA, AZ (STL.News) Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents rescued an illegal alien Thursday who had been lost in the desert without water for two days, and was having trouble walking. Early Thursday morning, the Tucson Sector notified the Wellton Border Patrol Station after receiving a 911 call from an illegal alien.  The subject claimed to have been without water for the past two days as well as having blisters on his feet, which made walking difficult.  Border Search Trauma and Rescue Agents (BORSTAR) and a Border Patrol Agent from the Camp Grip Forward Operating Base were dispatched to the subject’s coordinates.  Wellton Station also dispatched an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) agent, and two additional Border Patrol agents.  The person was located in a remote portion of the desert west...

Yuma Arizona Sector Rescues Local Man Wanted for Domestic Violence

YUMA, AZ (STL.News) Yuma Sector U.S. Border Patrol agents encountered a San Luis, Arizona resident Thursday, who stated that he was suffering from dehydration after spending two days in the desert. At approximately 7:20 p.m., a Yuma agent encountered a 31-year-old San Luis man on County 15 and Avenue A.  The subject claimed to be fleeing his home due to a domestic issue, and that he had become dehydrated after spending two days in the desert.  The agent treated the subject until San Luis Police Department and EMS arrived on scene.  San Luis PD took lead in the case, and EMS transported the subject to the Yuma Regional Medical Center.  Records checks revealed the subject as having outstanding domestic violence charges against him, and the subject remained in police custody.

Yuma US Border Patrol Agents Rescue Seven Illegal Aliens in 24-Hours

YUMA, AZ (STL.News) - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Sector rescued seven illegal aliens during three separate incidents over the last two days. Sunday afternoon agents received a distress call from a man reporting he and two other subjects were lost in the desert somewhere south of the foothills. Agents were able to identify the caller’s location near Fortuna Mine, where they responded and rescued three illegal aliens from Mexico.  All received medical aid from responding Border Patrol agents until Rural Metro Ambulance responded and transported the three to Yuma Regional Medical Center, for heat-related illnesses.
