Sacramento Police Detectives Arrest Aaron Rios for Sexual Assault

Sacramento, CA (STL.News) On August 18, 2020, Sacramento Police Department detectives arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a student and coach at St. Francis High School.  The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Aaron Rios, the former track and cross country running coach.  Rios has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony sexual assault charges. On Sunday, August 16, Sacramento Police received a report alleging inappropriate contact between a minor and an adult male.  Diligent follow-up by detectives led to the arrest of Rios. Sacramento Police Department Receives Grant to Purchase Lifesaving Automated External Defibrillators Sacramento, CA (STL.News)  The Sacramento Police Department was the beneficiary of a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant that allowed the department to purchase twenty-nine Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).  These devices enable officers to administer lifesaving care to those experiencing cardiac emergencies, and this purchase will equip officers in the field for the first time. Sacramento Police Arrested Jordan Ware for Fatal Hit & Run Collision

Sacramento, CA (STL.News)  Sacramento Police Department detectives have made an arrest in a fatal hit and run collision that occurred at 4th Street and I Street on August 13, 2020.  Detectives released surveillance footage of the suspect vehicle which led to the identification and arrest of 22-year-old Jordan Ware.  Ware was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on vehicular manslaughter charges and felony hit and run charges. The hit and run collision occurred on August 13, 2020 at approximately 12:08 p.m.  Detectives believe Ware failed to stop at a red light and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk.  Ware then fled the scene prior to officers arriving.  The pedestrian later died as a result of the collision. Sacramento Police Doing Fatal Hit and Run Investigation

Sacramento, CA (STL.News) On July 12, 2020 at approximately 2:41 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to emergency calls of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at West El Camino Boulevard and Northgate Boulevard.  Fire department personnel were also dispatched to the scene.  When officers arrived, they located a male adult down in the roadway.  The male had sustained major injuries and was declared deceased on scene.  Officers also discovered that the involved vehicle had fled the scene prior to their arrival. Eugene Pratt Arrested in Homicide Investigation, North Highlands

Sacramento, CA (STL.News) Shortly before 1:15 a.m. on Sunday July 5, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from a convenience store in the 4900 block of Watt Avenue regarding reports of a shooting. Deputies responded and located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Deputies assisted a security guard at the store who was rendering aid to the victim.  Fire personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Gun Violence Results in Multiple Homicides in the Sacramento

Sacramento, CA (STL.News) The Sacramento Police Department (SPD) and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office (SSO) want our communities to be aware of a series of shootings that have occurred throughout the City and County of Sacramento.  The drastic increase in shootings began to occur in late May and has continued through June.  Based on the investigations thus far, detectives believe that many of these shootings are related to a surge in gang activity occurring in our region. Homicide Investigation – 3700 block of Cypress Street by SPD

Sacramento, CA (STL.News) On June 16, 2020 at approximately 12:06 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 3700 block of Cypress Street for a report of shots fired.  When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male who had sustained a life-threatening-gunshot wound.  Officers immediately began life-saving measures.  Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation.
