St. Louis, Mo: Judge sentences Charles Kates, Jr. for being a felon in possession of a firearm

(STL.News) – nUnited States District Judge Henry E. Autrey sentenced Charles Kates, Jr., to 75 months in prison following Kates Jr.’s plea of guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. On April 28, 2019, Kates, Jr. and two others went into a St. Louis residence intending to rob a man of drugs and money.  The intended victim, who is also a co-defendant, was in his bedroom counting money from drug sales when he heard Kates, Jr. and the others outside.  The intended victim left his residence and got into an altercation with Kates, Jr. and his associates.
