DC Metro Police: Identified Homicide Victim as Omari Dunn

Washington, DC (STL.News) Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, January 9, 2021, in the Unit block of Florida Avenue, Northeast. At approximately 5:28 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim, inside of an establishment, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined the victim displayed no signs consistent with life.  The victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Portland, OR (STL.News) On August 29, 2020 at about 5:30 p.m. a caravan of hundreds of vehicles traveled from Clackamas Town Center into Portland.  This line of vehicles stretched for miles.  A significant number of vehicles drove downtown, clogging traffic from the Morrison Bridge into downtown.  Portland Police responded to incidents that arose, with a priority on life safety. As vehicles inched along streets on both sides of the Willamette River, pedestrians and vehicle occupants periodically exchanged words. At times fights broke out; there were some minor collisions. Portland, OR (STL.News) One main demonstration occurred in Portland during the evening hours of July 4 through the early morning hours of June 5, 2020. Houston, TX (STL.News) Houston police have learned the identity and cause of death of a man found at 4750 Irvington Boulevard about 6:20 a.m. on Saturday (June 27). The victim is identified as Joseph Luis Olguin, 24. HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported: Houston Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a trash fire behind a business at the above address and discovered the victim was deceased and had been burned. An investigator with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science (HCIFS) arrived on the scene and initially believed the victim had suffered multiple stab wounds. Protests after Black man, Rayshard Brooks was shot by an Atlanta, Georgia police officer (STL.News) New protests have broken out in the US city of Atlanta following the police killing of another Black man on Friday.  Demonstrators are angry after Rayshard Brooks was shot by officers after a struggle at a fast-food restaurant, and died later in hospital.  Police said Brooks, who had fallen asleep in his car in the drive-thru, had failed a sobriety test and resisted arrest.  The officers tried using a police taser on him, but a fight broke out.  Video footage, which was posted on social media, shows Brooks on the ground outside his car, struggling with two police officers.  The shooting later occurs out of frame. Houston, TX (STL.News) Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 1100 Fugate Street about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (June 11). The victim is identified as Jason D'Abadie, 46, of the above address.  His cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
