Contract Awarded for Resurfacing, Chip Seal Projects in NE Missouri

HANNIBAL, MO (STL.News) The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission recently awarded a contract to Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., of Columbia, Missouri, for projects in Marion, Monroe, Ralls and Shelby counties in the amount of $3,821,943.42.  The work will include more than 25 miles of resurfacing and nearly 77 miles of chip seals. “Pavement preservation projects like chip seals help us to extend the life of our pavement.  By extending the pavement’s life, we can better manage our roads and get the most out of our funds,” explained Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Untiedt. SIKESTON, MO (STL.News) The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for Southeast District projects during its regular meeting on January 8th.  Awarded contracts include construction of a diverging diamond interchange, pavement improvements and bridge improvements. Contracts include the following: A $17,476,608 contract was awarded to Penzel Construction Co., Inc., for construction of a diverging diamond interchange and replacement of two Interstate 55 bridges at the intersection of Interstate 55 and Route 61 (Kingshighway/Jackson Boulevard) in Cape Girardeau County. Moniteau County Bridge Projects Approved by Missouri Commission

MONITEAU COUNTY, MO (STL.News) The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a contract that will impact two bridges on Moniteau County Route CC.  Gene Haile Excavating was awarded a contract to replace the bridge over Medlen Creek, north of Route C, and replace the deck of the bridge over Burris Fork, north of Watson Road. The contractor submitted the lowest bid of $849,329. The bridges, which were both built in 1967, are included in Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program passed by the Missouri General Assembly during its 2019 session.  The program appropriated $50 million in state general revenue to fund 45 high priority bridge projects throughout the state.
