Los Angeles, CA (STL.News)  Six suspects were arrested after a statue of George Washington was toppled over and vandalized in Grand Park. On August 13, 2020, around 6:40 p.m., a group of protesters had assembled in the downtown area near the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration building.  As officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were in the area due to the protest, they saw numerous people pulling on red 'bands' that were tied around the neck portion of the George Washington Statue in Grand Park.  The group appeared to be attempting to remove the statue from its' platform.  Ultimately, the George Washington Statue broke from the base and fell to the ground. Columbia Police Investigate Fatal Crash in 1300 block of Carolina Drive

COLUMBIA, MO (STL.News)  Columbia Police investigate fatal crash involving pedestrian in the 1300 block of Carolina Drive on July 22. Vehicle 1 was backing into a private drive.  The juvenile male pedestrian ran into the path of Vehicle 1 while in motion and was struck by the rear passenger side of the vehicle.  The juvenile was transported by ambulance to a local emergency room for advanced medical treatment, where he was pronounced dead.  Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in this crash.  Next of kin has been notified. COLUMBIA, MO (STL.News)  On July 16, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Columbia Police officers responded to the 1800 block of East Broadway in reference to a reported strong-armed robbery. A suspect approached the victim and demanded his wallet and phone while displaying a handgun.  The victim was not injured and the suspect fled with the victim’s wallet, which included an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a Black male in his mid-twenties, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build with slightly grown out hair and a beard with no mustache, wearing a grey Mizzou shirt and jeans.  He was last seen running from the scene headed north toward Walnut Street and North Ann Street. COLUMBIA, MO (STL.News) In the early hours of Saturday, May 16, Columbia police responded to two incidents of shots fired in a residential neighborhood in North Columbia. The first incident occurred at approximately 3:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of Bodie Drive.  Upon arrival, officers located a residence with several bullet holes.  One intact bullet was recovered from the door.  There were no reported injuries.  Surveillance video from a neighbor showed shots being fired from a white or silver SUV which fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
