Fremin announced today that Todd Mixon, age 50, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, pled guilty to one count of wire fraud before Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick. According to admissions made as part of his guilty plea, Mixon solicited potential victims to invest in investment groups or ventures, in which he promised to trade their pooled funds in the foreign exchange markets, and at the end of the venture, promised to return to each victim his or her proportionate share of the group’s pooled funds, including profits. Five Additional Louisiana Parishes Designated for Individual Assistance

BATON ROUGE, LA (STL.News) Homeowners and renters in Beauregard, Lafayette, Rapides, St. Landry and St. Martin parishes may now apply for federal disaster assistance for uninsured and underinsured damage and losses resulting from Hurricane Delta. To be eligible for federal disaster aid, storm damage and losses from the hurricane and flooding must have occurred as a result of Delta from October 6 to October 10, 2020.  The deadline to register is December 16, 2020. Acadia, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vermilion parishes were previously included in the federal declaration to assist homeowners and renters. Mixon for defrauding investors in foreign currency trading scheme (STL.News) The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday announced charges against a Louisiana man for orchestrating a foreign currency trading scheme that defrauded at least 28 investors, most of whom are from the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. Baton Rouge, LA (STL.News) Monday, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and AFCO Industries President and CEO Don Fowler announced the company will make a $3.62 million investment to expand its manufacturing facility in Alexandria, Louisiana.  AFCO will close its plant in Pell City, Alabama, and transfer jobs and manufacturing operations to its Louisiana location.  The company manufactures metal weather stripping, aluminum extrusions, door tracks, columns, thresholds and other building construction components.
