Swanepoel Trends Report named real estate’s top book in 2019

AUSTIN, TEXAS (STL.News) – The Swanepoel Trends Report (STR) in its 14th year covering the top trends shaping the residential real estate brokerage industry has won the National Association of Real Estate Editors’ (NAREE) top book award for 2019. The report is published by T3 Sixty.

The 2019 STR won top honors, a Gold Award, in NAREE’s 12th annual Robert Bruss Real Estate Book Competition, which recognizes excellence in books covering real estate published in the previous year.

Comments from the panel judges include: “An interesting book about the latest industry disruptors” and “Appeals to brokerage leaders who shape their firms’ business plans. For the rest of us who might want to know, say, how Realtors get paid and why they’re so loyal to some firms, this book has answers.”

Previous winners of the Bruss Real Estate Book Competition include:

2018: “Crushing It in Apartments and Commercial Real Estate: How a Small Investor Can Make It Big,” by Brian Murray, published by Sackets Harbor Press.
2017: “24-Hour Cities: Real Investment Performance, Not Just Promises,” by Hugh Kelly, published by Routledge.
2016: “Selling Your House: Nolo’s Essential Guide,” by Ilona Bray, published by Nolo.
“Stefan, the T3 Sixty team and I work incredibly hard every year to put together the most accurate, useful and informative analysis possible for residential real estate brokerage leaders to better understand where their world is headed and what to do about it,” said STR Executive Editor Paul Hagey who was on hand to receive the award on behalf of the STR editorial team and T3 Sixty. “It’s an incredible honor to receive this recognition for the work we do.”

The STR is the brainchild of Stefan Swanepoel, a 36-year industry veteran, author of over 40 books and reports and CEO of T3 Sixty, a residential real estate brokerage consulting and research firm he founded in 1998.

“From its inception in 2006, just as the subprime meltdown started peaking, we have strived to make the Swanepoel Trends Report the residential real estate brokerage industry’s most valuable and trusted annual analysis of its biggest trends,” Swanepoel said. “We are humbled by the enormous support the industry has given the report the past decade and appreciate the huge recognition now given by NAREE. Thank you.”

Now published each year on Dec. 1, the 200-page Swanepoel Trends Report analyzes the trends and forces shaping the residential real estate industry for the next 18 to 24 months. Industry executives, brokers, and thought leaders use it as their annual reality check and strategic planning tool.

Founded in 1929, NAREE is a nonprofit association of real estate writers, editors, columnists, authors and communicators with over 600 members worldwide. The association meets three times each year.
