Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt Joins Kickoff of Clean Sweep 2019

St. Louis, MO (STL.News) – Yesterday, Missouri Attorney General Schmitt joined James Clark and Better Family Life for their kickoff event of their Clean Sweep 2019 initiative.  Better Family Life founded and is leading this effort, along with developers and business leaders from the Regional Business Council in St. Louis, to knock down abandoned buildings in North St. Louis as they’re often havens for crime.

“Stories about lives, especially young lives, being cut short are far too prevalent in St. Louis.  It’s my job as Attorney General to protect all six million Missourians. My efforts to combat violent crime through prosecutorial might with the Safer Streets Initiative are important, but continued community engagement is also crucial to improving St. Louis,” said Attorney General Schmitt.  “I appreciate James Clark and the Regional Business Council’s dedication to improving his city, and I’m grateful to be a part of his efforts to make St. Louis safer.  Knocking down old, dilapidated buildings and eliminating these havens for crime is tangible action and a commitment to constant work to make our communities safer.”
